For Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Gearbox has been inspired by Japanese role-playing schools.
Last week, Sony beamed his Playstation Showcase 2021 and celebrated the first gameplay trailer for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands premiere. Since then we have now: The new game of Gearbox is like the Borderland titles a Loot Shooter, but this time there is melee weapons and armor (ie, even more loot). The action game also comes with a special feature, which is clear from the Borderlands series: There is a top world map that wakes up memories of old JRPGS. Here you follow the events from the bird's eye view, so see your character (in the rest of the game comes the EGO view for use). In addition, the figures look different. They have small bodies and big heads. You could almost talk about a chibi look, but the characters are not cute enough.
PC Gamer delivers some details to the Oberwelt in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands in a report, which sound very interesting. Thus, the colleagues cite the Creative Director Matt Cox, who announces that there is random fights in the game - another element we know from Japanese role games of past times. Random meetings will be influenced in the high grass. So if you are on the main path on the way, you will not appear, says Cox. But do you deviate from the street, you will be involved in such fighting. Then the game is in small areas, changes to the ego perspective and you are likely to go to the ballers or cutting. These areas should be external to the Biom, in which you are traveling on the world map. Cox also says they will not be part of the larger maps. This allows us to conclude that the Oberwelt does not replace the extensive regions that we know from the Borderlands parts, but represents a new link between them.
Senior Producer Kayla Belmore says you can discover a lot on the top world map in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands - also much, which is reserved for this part of the game. She also speaks of optional maps that attract with own stories. Also, there should be special mini quests on the Oberwelt. The goal of the developer is that you just do not only experience on the map from one place to the next, but also there things. The random fighters and said mini tasks should contribute to it.
The developers are also addressed to other aspects of the game. For example, you have said that there is your own key for melee attacks as in the Borderland titles. So you do not replace the firearm, which you have equipped. This suggests that you can not play a pure career in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and again the shooter gameplay is the focus. Through different killing tools with its own detections and properties Gearbox gives the melee but more depth, which is completely missing in Borderlands at this point.
Matt Cox also emphasizes that the adaptation of its own character plays an even greater role than in the previous titles of Gearbox. He promises that you can create a huge range of figures and that there are many different races, including elves and ogers. You are not just one of the six classes, but can also customize everything else: your appearance, even the voice and personality and also the pattern of your armor and its color.
Last but not least, the makers revealed that the eponymous Tiny Tina as a game manager of the Tabletop game, which you can watch in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, repeatedly changed the parts of the game world. As an example, you will call an idyllic castle including surroundings, from which a kingdom becomes devastated by fire and in which lots of sulfur and eerie violet clouds can be found. However, such changes are not dynamic, but are carried out at certain points in the game.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will be released on March 25, 2022 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S and Xbox One.
