After an update that allows PS5 users to extend their storage using the SSD M.2 location. Although there is no formally recommended SSD card by Sony, the PS5 Mark Cerny architect, finally announced on Twitter which SSD card he uses.
The PS5 user base has been left to determine which SSD card best suits each individual, which is not ideal for those who are not particularly savvy in technology or who simply do not have the will to look for what they need.
Mark Cerny has fortunately chosen to remedy this, and in a message on Twitter, he revealed which card SSD his home currently uses, and it is the range of SSD NVME WD Black SN850 of Western Digital . It should be noted that Cerny himself has chosen the version of the thermal sink cards, which should contribute to the longevity of the SSD card and the cooling of the PS5.
Our solution to our PS5 fireplace with two very active players? SSD for him and for her ????
Some great options for 7000 MB / s, ended up putting my $$ on it. It's going to be beautiful !!! pic.twitter.com/6tuqpwk49x

The recommended speed of any SSD card that would be compatible with the PS5 is 5500 MB / s, Mark Cerny, however, opted for faster SSDs that offer 7000 MB / s.
It should be noted that there are different options for storage sizes of the same SSD card as CERNY recommended, 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TO. This allows the choice to the consumer and his needs.
The update is currently only available in the first beta software of the PS5 and has recently been made available on July 29. However, it is expected that the update is made public once Sony will judge it stable and viable.
