Pokémon Scarlet and Violeta Fans believe that they could have discovered a clue on a new Pokémon. The next Pokémon Games are located in a region inspired by the Iberian Peninsula, the European region where both Spain and Portugal are located. It is likely that Game Freak designers and the main members of the Pokémon team, Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori, have been inspired by the new region during an extensive tour of Spain and Portugal that both performed while promoted pokémon Sol and Luna in 2016. Now, fanatics are investigating old interviews and other stories to try to discover what could be included in the new game.
Last week, the Portuguese Pokémon Twitter account pointed out that Masuda and Ohmori had mentioned the Gallo de Barcelos as an interesting concept for a Pokémon. In the Tweet a photo of the couple was included, with Masuda holding a figure of the famous rooster. Interestingly, Masuda himself liked the Tweet (although, to be fair, he likes many tweets in which he has been labeled). You can review the Tweet below:
The Gallo de Barcelos is a famous symbol of Portugal and is a reference to a famous popular tale in which a man was sentenced to death for stealing. When they took him to the house of a local magistrate to defend the case, the man declared that he was innocent, affirming that "it is so true that I am innocent as the cock will sing when they hang up," and pointed out a roast rooster in soil. The table of the magistrate dining room. Indeed, the rooster revived the next day to sing, and man's life was saved by little. Subsequently, man sculpted a monument to commemorate the rooster, which is still in Barcelos today.
A rooster does not really make a lot of sense for a Pokémon, especially one who sings to save the innocent. Since The Pokémon Company is often inspired by the folklore and myths of real life, it seems that Barcelos's rooster could definitely appear in the upcoming Pokémon games. Of course, an interview and a tweet that I liked do not guarantee anything, but given that at least another new Pokémon was extracted from the folklore of Spain and Portugal, we would not be surprised to see more Pokémon following that example.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violeta will be released at the end of this year.
